Dear friends,
I am writing on behalf of Marika Sidoti, who some of you have probably met at the forum in Quito, and on behalf of December 18, a Brussels-based non-profit organisation working since 1999 for the promotion of migrant rights. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the UN Migrant Workers Convention, we have launched a campaign to ask EU governments to ratify this text, crucial for the human rights of immigrants across Europe.
Our main priority right now is to obtain as many signatures as possible by giving more visibility to our petition campaign in the run-up to the 18th of December, International Migrants Day. Thus, we would like to suggest a few simple ways in which you could be of great help for us in the promotion of our campaign:
a) Signing our petition as organisation and explicitly asking all the members of your network to sign as well, and to spread the voice through their respective networks of members and supporters, as well as encouraging all the staff of the organization's Secretariat to sign, as this could exponentially increase the number of signatures. b) Including a mention to our petition and the link where to sign in your newsbulletin and internal or external correspondence with your membership.

Even if you can only undertake 1 out of these actions, especially signing our petition as organisation and spreading the word among your membership and networks through your newsbulletin and mailing lists, you will be making a decisive contribution to our campaign!
